About
IDTypes records how identity documents looked in each period of issue. The unit is the edition: one generation of a document, from its first issue date to its last, with the date its copies stop being valid.
How a fact gets here
Each edition is recorded with its issue window and status. What we do not know is left unknown, never guessed. The archive shows the structure and the scale; full specifications are shared on request.
Images
Pictures on this site are layout illustrations drawn from each edition's data, marked as specimens. They are not scans of real documents and they never show real people or real numbers. Cleared specimens are added edition by edition, each with its licence and attribution.
Responsible use
The catalog and the sample builder exist for verification training, software testing, design and research. Every sample carries a visible mark and is not valid for identification, travel or any official purpose. We offer no editable source files.
